Day 1: Munich

Welcome to Germany!!

After your overnight flight you'll land in Munich, the capital of Bavaria. Not only is Munich well-known for its Oktoberfest, the long beer brewing tradition and the typical Bavarian easy going lifestyle, but also for its museums, opera house - one of the most prestige in Germany, as well as a celebrated tradition of music involving names such as Wagner, Richard Strauss and Carl Orff.

After meeting your coach and local tour guide your stay will begin with a city tour including major sites of historic and modern Munich such as castle Nymphenburg, the city center, the old and the New Town Hall with its famous carillon, the opera house, the Olympic Park and the modern BMW World with its car exhibition and interactive features.

In the afternoon you'll have time for shopping before you'll finish the day with a welcome dinner at a typical Bavarian restaurant may be at the world famous Hofbräuhaus.

Overnight in Munich.

Day 2: Munich – Neuschwanstein – Salzburg

After breakfast you'll leave for a daytrip to the Alps and visit one of the most renowned Bavarian royal castles, Castle Neuschwanstein that was built in the 19th century by the legendary "mad" King Ludwig II. The shimmering white towers of the castle high up the hill are instantly recognizable to many and inspired to Disney's Sleeping Beauty Castle. This visit is a step inside a fairy tale inspired by German legends and history.

In the afternoon you'll continue to Oberammergau, known as the village of the Passion Play, as well as the home of a long tradition of woodcarving. Dozens of woodcarver's shops await you in richly decorated houses with painted walls set in a picturesque Alpine landscape.

Late afternoon you'll cross the Austrian border. After check-in you will have a group dinner at your hotel in Salzburg.

Day 3: Salzburg

A must have for every music tour in Austria. This town is dedicated to Mozart, music and culture. One will recognize some of the historic buildings as the set of the unforgettable movie "The Sound of Music". Furthermore, the well preserved city centre has been listed as a UNESCO World Heritage site.

After breakfast you'll meet your local guide for a city walking tour including the Mirabell garden, the narrow Getreidegasse with its many shops and Mozart´s Birthplace, the Cathedral, where you may have the possibility for an informal singing or a concert.

In the afternoon you will take the funicular up to the medieval fortress Hohensalzburg that has never been conquered. Enjoy the breath taking view over the roof tops of the old town.

Overnight in Salzburg

Day 4: Salzburg – Berchtesgaden – Salzburg

After breakfast you'll leave for an excursion, including a concert possibility in Salzburg or in Salzburg area.

In the afternoon you'll return to Germany for a couple of hours and visit the unique Salt mine in Berchtesgaden. If the weather permits the route will take you along a scenic drive – the panoramic road "Rossfeldstrasse". Several highlights await you during the underground tour: a 40 m long miner´s slide will take you in the depths of the mountain; you will cross a 150 m deep underground lake by a ferry and much more…

Continuing to the cosy village Schönau at the Lake Königssee for a short stop; weather and time permitting you may join a short cruise with one of the electric boats on the lake. Return transfer to Salzburg

Day 5: Salzburg – Vienna

Breakfast and departure for Vienna.

Crossing Austria via the motorway your first stop will be at lake Mondsee with a visit of the Basilika known as the "Wedding Church" after the movie "The Sound of Music". Here you'll have the possibility for an informal singing or a concert. In the afternoon you will see Wachau, the scenic Danube-Valley and have another stop at the Benedictine monastery named Melk Abbey.

Dinner and overnight at your hotel in Vienna.

Day 6: Vienna

The capital of Austria, a town of music, theatre and opera featuring of a long list of composers such as Mozart, Beethoven, Schubert, Brahms, Mahler, Haydn, Johann Strauss and many more. The world famous Opera, the Musikverein, the Volksoper, the unique "museums " House of the Music" – everything in Vienna seems to be dedicated to music.

After your breakfast you will start a city tour by coach incl. among others you will see the historic city centre, St. Stephen´s Cathedral, Royal Castle, Parliament, Belvedere, the modern Hundertwasser House, the UNO district. Furthermore, this tour will include a guided tour at Schönbrunn Palace.

After the visit you may have an informal open air concert at the steps of the palace. In the afternoon you´ll visit of the Central Cemetery in Vienna and see the graves and monuments of famous composers.

Your group dinner with "Schrammel" music will be held at a typical Heuriger restaurant in Grinzing.

Overnight in Vienna.

Day 7: Vienna – Budapest

After breakfast your journey will continue to Hungary, the third country of your Central Europe tour. The Hungarian composers Bartok and Kodaly and their contribution to 20th century music are well known all over the world.

On arrival in Budapest, the "pearl of the Danube", you'll meet your local guide for a city tour. Just to mention a few you will see the medieval Buda Castle area, Matthias Church, Fishermen´s Bastion as well as the magnificent Heroes Square.

In the evening you may have the possibility for a concert e.g. in a church in the city centre.

Dinner and overnight at hotel in Budapest.

Day 8: Budapest – countryside – Budapest

Breakfast at your hotel

In the morning you'll have free time for shopping. You may explore the Market hall, the largest food market in town or spend your time window shopping in the elegant Vaci utca.

At noon you'll join us for a half day excursion to a farm located in the countryside south of Budapest, the so called "Puszta" – the great plane. After a welcome drink , you'll take part in a short drive with a horse carriage.

Your late lunch will be accompanied with live gipsy music and a Hungarian folklore show. Your stay in the puszta will end with the highlight of an astonishing horse show. Return transfer to Budapest

Free evening & Overnight in Budapest.

Day 9: Budapest

After breakfast transfer to the airport for your flight home.
